This notice explains what the Setout preview keeps about you and why. It covers this site, uat.setout.io, where invited testers sign in and download Drone Mission Planner, and the app’s connection to it for activation, licence renewal and updates. Your LiDAR data and mission projects stay on your computer: the app does not send them to us.
Who we are
Setout is run from the United Kingdom (“we”). We decide how the data described here is used. For anything about your data, write to support@setout.io.
What we keep
| Data | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Your Google account ID, name and email address | Google, when you sign in with Google |
| A device ID, your computer’s name and the app version | The app, when you activate it and when it renews its licence. The device ID is a one-way hash of your computer’s machine ID; the machine ID itself never leaves your computer. |
| Your subscription status and the end of the paid period | Polar, our payment provider, if your access is paid. We never see card details. |
| Audit events: sign-ins, downloads, activations, licence renewals and administration changes, each with the time and IP address | Our own records, kept for security and to look into misuse |
| IP addresses, with the time, the address requested and browser details | Request logs kept by Cloudflare, which hosts this site |
| Emails you send to support@setout.io | You. They are forwarded to our Google mailbox. |
If you sign in with an account that has not been invited, you see the invite-only page and we keep nothing about you beyond the short-lived request log.
Why we use it
- To run the preview you joined: sign-in, checking your invitation and subscription, downloads, activation, licences and updates. Our lawful basis is that this is needed to provide the service you asked for.
- To keep the service secure and look into misuse: logs and audit events. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in a secure service.
- To answer you when you write to us. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions about the preview.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or build profiles of you.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts this site, its database, file storage and request logs, and forwards support email.
- Google provides “Sign in with Google”, and its Gmail service holds the support mailbox.
- Polar handles subscriptions. In the preview it runs only in its sandbox (test) mode and takes no real payments.
These providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States, under the safeguards in their data protection terms.
How long we keep it
- Audit events: 90 days, then they are deleted automatically.
- Cloudflare request logs: at most 7 days.
- Your account, invitation, devices and subscription status: while you take part in the preview. We delete them when you ask or when the preview ends.
- Support emails: as long as we need them to answer you.
Cookies
This site sets one essential cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 7 days; signing out removes it. Google’s sign-in may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or stop using it, or give it to you in a machine-readable form. Write to support@setout.io; we answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We publish any change on this page with a new date, and tell testers directly when a change affects how we use their data.
